There is no better way to start publishing on this site than by talking about my favorite writers, who have been my inspiration all these years and who made me dream and fall in love with incredible stories. I decided to introduce five of them to you. They are often the favorite writers of many other people too, but rightly so, because they deserve it.
1. Paula Pimenta
The author of the "Minha Vida Fora de Série" series is my absolute favorite. Her sweet and gentle writing style truly captivates me, and her stories take place in the real world, which makes me feel very close to the characters.
I started reading her books when I was 15, during my sophomore year of high school. I went to a bookstore in São Paulo and didn't know which book to pick. So, I asked the sales clerk for a recommendation, and she told me that "Minha Vida Fora de Série" was extraordinary.
It was love at first sight. This book made me dream many times about finding a Rodrigo. Who wouldn't love him?
2. Lemony Snicket
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" was the very first book series I ever read. I was only ten years old and, following the recommendation of my cousin who had started reading it at school, I picked it up too. Since then, my love for the three Baudelaire orphans has never faded.
To me, these are the best mystery and adventure books out there. I was thrilled when the series was adapted by Netflix. Have you watched it?
3. Kiera Cass
I discovered this author during high school and literally devoured "The Selection" series in just a few days. Back then, her words described exactly what I expected from love.
4. Pedro Bandeira
Brazilian, funny, and full of life. That's how I see this extraordinary man, who managed to put everything young people want to read about into the "Os Karas" series: adventure, love, and mystery, not to mention the courage of those kids.
The first book of his I read was "A Droga da Obediência" because it was mandatory reading at school. We even had a test on it.
5. The Brothers Grimm
They are the ones who created the magic of the fairy tales that have enchanted generations of children. The Brothers Grimm were so talented that, even today, their stories continue to fascinate us.
